HISTORY

In the tradition of Berlin’s industrial yards

The GoWest quarter continues a long-lasting Berlin tradition: The first industrial yards developed around the middle of the 19th century in the then booming districts of Kreuzberg and Moabit. Their high-quality building structure and adaptability to almost all uses ensure the attractiveness and success of the typical Berlin industrial yards to this day.

THE LOCATION

Well connected in Berlin-Schmargendorf

The very well developed quarter is conveniently located next to the city highway and is surrounded by an urban structure: residential and administrative buildings, retail, commercial spaces and allotments characterize the surroundings – typical for Berlin-Schmargendorf. From here you can get to Kurfürstendamm or Grunewald in just a few minutes.

1 Marketplace, 12 Courtyards, 1000 Opportunities

The transformation of the old tobacco factory in Berlin-Schmargendorf into a modern quarter is already at full speed. The result will offer a wide range of well-cut commercial spaces and attractive infrastructure. Over the next few years, we will be creating around 200,000 m² of commercial space for Berlin’s economy – and setting new standards for the work environment of tomorrow.

15.000 m² Urban Farming

The buildings in GoWest have 5 to 6 floors and an impressive landscape is being created on their roofs: Germany’s largest rooftop garden is being realized in GoWest with approximately 15,000m². Fresh fruit, vegetables, and even our own bee honey will be delivered directly to the tables of the quarter’s users via short routes.
